Dysmenorrhea
Dysmenorrhea is the medical term for, painful menstrual periods, are throbbing or cramping pains in the lower abdomen.

What Causes Menstrual Cramps?
Menstrual Cramps happen when a chemical called Prostaglandin makes the uterus contract, involved in pain and inflammation trigger the uterine muscle contractions. Higher levels of prostaglandin the more-severe menstrual cramps.
OH, THE PAIN!!
Pain usually begins one or two days before you get your period or when bleeding starts. You may feel pain ranging from mild to severe in the lower abdomen, back or thighs.
Pain can typically last up to 7 days, and you might have other symptoms such as:
- Nausea and Vomiting
- Fatigue
- Bloating
- Headache or Migraine
- Dull, or continuous ache
